FAQ
Is learning to fly difficult?
Not at all! While flight training requires dedication and practice, our instructors make the learning process fun, engaging, and easy to follow. With the right mindset and regular lessons, most students pick up the basics quickly and build confidence with each flight.

What is a Private Pilot’s License (PPL), and what can I do with it?
A Private Pilot’s License (PPL) allows you to fly an aircraft for personal and recreational use. With a PPL, you can take passengers on flights anywhere in the U.S., day or night, under visual flight rules (VFR). However, you cannot be paid to fly passengers or cargo—you’ll need additional certifications for commercial flying.

What are the requirements to get my PPL?
To earn your PPL, you must:
-
Be at least 17 years old
-
Pass an FAA medical exam
-
Complete a minimum of 40 flight hours (including solo and instructor-led training)
-
Pass the FAA written knowledge test
-
Complete a check ride with an FAA-designated examiner
How long does flight training take?
The timeline varies based on lesson frequency. If you fly multiple times per week, you could earn your PPL in 3-6 months. If you fly less often, it may take closer to a year. Consistency is key to making steady progress!

How often should I take lessons?
We recommend at least 2-3 lessons per week to retain skills and make the most efficient progress. However, we can tailor a schedule that fits your availability and budget.

How long is each lesson?
Lessons typically last 2.5 to 3 hours, including pre-flight briefing, flight time, and post-flight review.

What will I learn during flight training?
Flight training covers:
-
Aircraft controls and handling
-
Takeoff and landing techniques
-
Navigation and flight planning
-
Emergency procedures
-
Weather and airspace regulations
-
Solo flight and cross-country flying
When will I fly solo?
Most students complete their first solo flight around 15-20 hours of training, but this varies based on progress and instructor approval. You’ll need to demonstrate safe takeoffs, landings, and basic flight maneuvers before soloing.

How much does it cost to get a Private Pilot’s License?
The total cost varies based on training pace and aircraft rental fees, but a typical PPL costs between $12,000 and $18,000. This includes instructor fees, aircraft rental, exams, and materials. We also have teamed up with AOPA who offers finance options for students, more information can be found HERE

How can I reduce the cost of flight training?
Flying consistently (2-3 times per week) helps reduce training hours and overall cost. Studying at home, using flight simulators, and preparing for lessons in advance can also speed up progress.

Can I take a discovery flight before committing?
Absolutely! A discovery flight is the perfect way to experience flying firsthand. You’ll sit in the pilot’s seat, take control of the aircraft under instructor guidance, and see if aviation is right for you.
